Bargello Sampler 2024

A bargello look without the hassles a real bargello brings. This sampler designed by Tiffany Fraser showcases some beautiful star blocks, alternated with a bargello-like block that makes your quilt look like it has stripes of colours running through it.

Choosing Our Fabrics

Note: Fabrics 1 through 7 should have a gradated value with clear definition between each, with Fabric 1 being very light and Fabric 7 being very dark.

Week 1

To star us off we'll make the Hourglass star block using the Tucker Trimmer ruler by Deb Tucker to make our lives a little easier.

Week 2

Let's really get the ball rolling on this project by starting to make our Bargello blocks with strip piecing.

Week 3

This week we make the Lemoyne Star block using Deb Tucker's Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool.

Week 4

Learn to make non-mirror-image flying geese in order to make the Mosaic Star block. This week we use the Bloc Loc & Wing Clipper rulers.

Week 5

This week we use the Split Rects ruler by Deb Tucker and the Simple Folded Corner ruler by Doug Leko to make our Orbit Star block.

Week 6

Putting it all together!

Week 7

Borders and binding! We'll be using the Simple Folded Corners ruler again this week to join our binding.

Thank you everyone for sewing along with us, we have greatly enjoyed this project and hope you will join us for our next project as well. Please don't forget to post your finished quilts (even if you are posting months or years from now) in the Facebook group to share with everyone.

HAPPY QUILTING!
